Chippewas of the Thames Nation issues travel advisory for Ontario COVID hot spots

The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Health Centre has issued a travel advisory for the following cities: Toronto, Peel, Ottawa, and York.

In the advisory, issued yesterday, the Nation encouraged community members “to use their best judgement before visiting one of these cities.

A travel advisory is an official warning statement issued to provide information about the relative safety of travelling to or visiting certain destinations, reads a notice on the Nation’s Facebook page.

It asked that Nation members consider travelling to these cities for medical appointments only.

“Limit non-essential travel.”

The Nation is also asking community members who travel from these cities back to the community to self-isolate for two weeks.

The Nation is located near London, Ont. and about 200 km from Toronto.
