Local, national, and international Indigenous innovation in film, video, radio, and new media will be celebrated at the 2017 Dreamspeakers International Indigenous Film Festival in Edmonton from Sept. 20 to Sept. 23.

Over the four days, 15 films will be featured including The Road Forward (produced by NFB and directed by Marie Clements), Sun at Midnight (written, directed, and produced by Kirsten Carthew), and Cree Code Talker (by Alexandra Lazarowich).

A number of short films will be shown in the lobby of Metro Cinema. As well, the festival is bringing back Youth Day on Sept. 21. More than 100 youth from across Alberta will participate in a one-day film creation workshop with film professionals.

The 2017 Dreamspeakers Festival is produced by the Dreamspeakers Festival Society, and supported by a number of companies and organizations, including Bell Media, Alberta Culture and Tourism, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Edmonton Arts Council, APTN, and CFWE-FM.

All screenings are $15 and can be purchased at www.metrocinema.org or by calling 780-425-9212.
