Marvin Brian Auger is the 47-year-old man found deceased within his residence on Bigstone Cree Nation Dec. 2, the RCMP has confirmed. Auger’s death was determined to be a homicide after the completion of an autopsy in Edmonton at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner yesterday.
The investigation is being led by the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) with assistance from the Desmarais RCMP Detachment and the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section (FIS).
Evidence obtained to date indicates that Auger was shot and killed inside his home sometime around the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 26.
Investigators know that there are individuals with knowledge of this incident and are seeking to speak with persons who may have had contact with Marvin Brian Auger on or shortly before Oct. 26.
