Oak Hill Boys Ranch is a residential treatment facility that provides services to boys between the ages of 10-16 years who require care and therapeutic service for emotional and behavioral well-being. Therapeutic services include: individual therapy, family support, community integration, on-site school, Aboriginal programming, activity programing and recreational programming.
Aboriginal Liaison worker
The Aboriginal Liaison position is to provide cultural service to the boys and their families. There is generally three aspects of the service.
- To work with the elder and prepare weekly sweats for the boys as well as other initiatives such as ceremonies, and staff training.
- To provide cultural experiences for the boys on and off ranch. (ie sharing circles, smudging, attend pow-wows, learning language, and other cultural activities)
- To provide support and activities that link the young people to their community of origin where appropriate
This is a 40 hour per week position. The hours for the position vary so some flexibility is required however most of the activities occur after school and early evenings. The Salary is $48,923.70 per annum and includes benefits.
A Degree/Diploma in Human Services is preferred; preference will be given to Child & Youth Care and Social Work disciplines.
